In this research field, the third-generation swing-arm drop test machine has been developed abroad, which can generate a variety of force pulse waveforms on a buffer, supplemented by highly automated control and data acquisition and analysis equipment.

The principle of the swing-arm drop test machine is to quickly rotate the bracket to release the sample and make it fall freely; the free-fall test machine is to make the bracket produce a motion greater than the free-fall acceleration to achieve the product free fall or by hanging The release of the hook achieves free fall of the product.

The testing machine consists of an impact plate, a lifting mechanism, a control box, a falling actuator and a test fixture fixing fixture. The swing-arm drop tester is more complex than a free-fall drop tester, and can accurately raise the product height without interference at the moment of impact. It can generate a variety of force pulse waveforms on a buffer and can achieve data collection and analysis.
